Vintage Addiction...

As far as i can remember, i ve always been a big fan of the 50's and 60's. The cars, the music, the pin-ups, the clothes, the designers, the toys, the movies, from this era were filling up my teenager's dreams. One morning, passing by the window of a shop, I saw what for me was "Eddie Cochran" and "Brian Setzer" guitar, a bright orange "Gretsch 6120" caught my eye. I came into the shop and asked what that amazing instrument was. Patrice Bastien answered all my questions and more instead of tossin the young little punk out and for that I will forever be gratefull. I was skipping school to spend hours and hours at "Guitar Express" (also known as "Magnetic france"), one of the finest worldwide vintage dealer and expert but also a very generous personn who took the time to share his amazing knowledge of vintage...

It never stopped since then. There is so much to know about vintage guitars and amps that there is always something new to learn, another one to find, another one to restore ...

Some are thrilled by the latest carbon fiber design or the heaviest meanest guitars of their death metal hero, and i respect and understand that. Personnaly, I am thrilled by the smell of the old Fender cases and could spend hours admiring the lil crack in the nitro finish of an old Gibson flatop... Not that old stuff is better than modern stuff, it s a completly subjective feeling, it s a passion, some kind of magic flickering around some of these instruments that went from hand to hand for over 50 years or more sometimes, some travelling through time without a scratch, some at the very end of their life, tired and worn out to the bear wood.

Rarest of the most expensive icons of the most collectible Vintage guitars that went so high in prices now that hardly any musician can even afford em  or cheap plastic electric guitars, i love them all ...

My Days at "Guitar n co" :

Jean-Pierre Vigne himself holding my ex: a 62 "Strat fiesta" .The boss of "Guitar n Co", one of the finest guitar shop you can find around the world. He s also a great guitar player and a wonderfull genuine and generous personn. We've been working together for years now, I was in charge of the set-ups, repairs, appraisal and of buying and finding some vintage and second hand instruments. Even tho i left the shop to move to Denmark, we still are working together and are close friends. Workin with so many pro-musicians and private collectors and being able to lay my hands on so many rare vintage instruments is by far the best way to learn, thank you J.P for trusting me and giving me this unique oportunity.
