Very Typical of the late 64 (fall 1964 and later) and 65 finish undercoat. Note that if you compare it with the 54 and 58, it looks totally different.There is a "whitish coat" on these basically used to hide the cosmetic flaws of the alder, check this if you want to learn more about the detailed steps of Fender painting process over the years..That smart process allowed fender to use a lot cheaper alder for their bodies. Don t let yourself get fooled by the prices of the vintage guitars now, back when they were built, minimizing the production costs was the challenge of most companies including Fender pre or post CBS !!!
