The "hardtail" or "non tremolo" Strat.

String through body

Bridge and saddles

    pickguard and bridge

The non tremolo strats were introduced in 1954 as well as the regular ones. They are fairly common in the early years of production, most likely because people were not trusting this "new synchronized tremolo" yet. They are rarer during the 60 s and 70 s. As you can see the strings are loaded through the body like on a Tele but the saddles are the same as a regular Stratocaster. they are called "hardtails". There is no routing in the back and no springs. They do sound a little bit different from the "regular" strats too
